Earle B. Higgins, Sr.
Earle B. Higgins is a 34 year veteran of the automotive
industry. He began his career in 1973 when he joined Chrysler Corporation
following a career in the National Basketball Association with the Indiana
Pacers.
During his 27 years with Chrysler, he held a variety of managerial positions,
including Manager of Supplier Diversity. There, Higgins was responsible for
managing buying teams that were tasked with sourcing future production
equipment, tooling, construction and logistics. Higgins’ assignments have
emphasized leadership, innovation, teamwork and data analysis, as well as
achievement of bottom line results. His experiences and opportunities have
provided him with maximum exposure to essential executives throughout the
automotive industry.
After retirement from DaimlerChrysler in 1999, Higgins founded Pro-Tech Group,
Inc. As President and CEO, Higgins assists the business segments of the PTG
enterprise in exceeding all customer expectations through a consistent and
disciplined review of all sales and marketing initiatives. Higgins also
initiates strategic planning as well as any corrective action implementation as
required for new business opportunities.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Higgins attended high school in Ann Arbor. As the
team captain of the Pioneer’s 1966 basketball team, he led the team to the State
Championship game. He was selected to the 3 area All State Teams as well as to
the McDonald’s High School All American Team. After high school, Higgins
attended Casper Junior College in Casper, Wyoming, where he was selected to the
Junior College All-American team in his first year. Higgins transferred to
Eastern Michigan University where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree.
While EMU, he was a three year starter and letterman on the basketball team as
well as being selected to the 1968 All-American Team. In 1968, Higgins was the
only player selected from Michigan to try out for the United States Olympic
basketball team. Most recently, Higgins was inducted into the Eastern Michigan
University Sports Hall of fame in 1997. He is also a member of the National
Basketball Retired Players Association.
